The city government of Dumaguete through its Sectoral Desk Office turned over a P210,000 check to members of Cadawinonan Socialized Housing Project and Homeowners Association Incorporated (CASHRA) for livelihood projects, in a ceremony held February 21 at the Mayor's Office.
Dumaguete City Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria handed the check to CASHRA president Kurt Rodriguez for financial assistance with the City Administrator William Ablong and members of the association as witness of the event.
Rodriguez thanked the city government for allocating financial assistance to his group as means to have additional income for its members.
He said of the total amount, P160,000 will be used to buy a passenger easy ride multicab which they can also be used in emergency cases. The P30,000 is for the construction of a community Botica or small pharmacy and the remaining P20,000 for the purchase of medicines.
The CASHRA Incorporated has more than 300 members, according to Rodriguez.
Mayor Sagarbarria said city government will continue to give support to the association of small business in the city for their livelihood projects.
The mayor tasked the office of Sectoral Desk to handle and monitor projects such as these under his administration.
