11th IB joins ‘Brigada Eskwela’
The Army’s 11th Infantry Battalion has mobilized its troopers and CAFGU Active Auxiliaries in central Negros, to participate in the “Brigada Eskwela” of the Department of Education, in preparation for the school opening on June 4.
Lt. Col. Wilfredo Isaac, 11th IB commander, said that through the “Bayanihan spirit”, they have linked up with DepEd and various Parents Teachers Associations for the repair of school buildings and in the clean-up drive, especially those severely damaged by the powerful earthquake.
The 11th IB has units deployed in Himamaylan City, Moises Padilla, and La Castellana in Negros Occidental; La Libertad, Guihulngan City, Tayasan, Vallehermoso and Canlaon City, in Negros Oriental.
Isaac assured the people of central Negros that the 11IB will always be a partner in promoting peace and development.
The 11IB also facilitated the four-day Youth Leadership Summit in La Libertad, Negros Oriental, that was participated in by 40 Sangguniang Kabataan officials, in partnership with the local government.
Isaac said the YLS aims to develop the youth into responsible members of the community, and emphasizes values formation, personality development, social awareness to insulate them from destructive vices, lawless elements and deceptive scheming from some sectors of society.
