The Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) has announced the names of their 23 new registered nurses and one lawyer.
NORSU’s lone successful bar examination passer during last year’s tests is Peter Roderic Olpoc of Dumaguete City.
Olpoc is a longtime employee of the Philippine National Bank (PNB) in the city. For a year now, he is assigned as the bank’s Sales Service Officer in its Bais City branch.
According to NORSU College of Law Dean Pearl Estacion, Olpoc is the lone passer out of 14 other examinees from the state university who took the bar exams last year.
NORSU’s passing rate is at 7.14%, said NORSU Information Officer Joy Perez in a statement.
On the other hand, the university achieved a 95.83% passing rate during the Nurses Licensure Examination held in Cebu City on Dec. 18 to 19, 2011.
This after 23 of 24 total nursing board examinees from its College of Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Allied Health Science (CNDPAHS) passed the licensure test.
CNDPAHS Dean Dr. Dalisay Dumalag said that out of 67,095 who took the examination nationwide, only 22,760 (33.92%) passed.
