Negros Oriental is now organizing a training for young football players through its Grassroots Course and Training Festival.
Grassroots Development Officer Patrick De la Torre encourages children ages six to 12 to take part in the grassroots development program.
The program aims to bring every youth to play football games to be future athletes to compete in national sports competition.
“Grassroots can be played everywhere and by everyone,” said De la Torre.
For his part, Negros Oriental Football Association (NORFA) president, Dick Emperado said the province can produce competent football players that will represent the province in the national football games through the program.
NORFA is going to adapt the Grassroots Development Program that trains the youths who are interested in the said sport, said Emperado.
The program focuses on training the children the basics of football game on dribbling passing and shooting the ball.
