An official of the Philippine National Police (PNP) said today that the agency has started the formal process in acquiring an International Organization for Standards (ISO) certification on Quality Management Systems. Some representatives of the Geneva-based organization are already in the country. “Actually, it’s the management procedures in the directorate for intelligence that they are checking in ISO,” PNP Spokesperson PChief/Supt. Agrimero Cruz said.
Meanwhile, an ISO representative who will be examining the PNP Public Information Office (PIO) will be arriving from Japan in the coming days.
Cruz said that the ISO will be checking the PIO management process to determine whether it can be issued an ISO certification.
Other PNP offices are also applying to get the same certification.
PNP is working towards achieving a world-class management procedure and attain the ISO certification for the entire police agency, Cruz added.
PChief/Supt. Cruz was guest today in the Communications and News Exchange Forum (CNEX) at the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), aired live over People’s Television Network (PTV4).
