National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) Visaysas Communication Officer Elmer Cruz said the incident caused the tripping of the Amlan-Siaton 69kV transmission line.
However, Cruz said the NGCP restored the power transmission services at once after re-energizing the said transmission line.
Customers of Negros Oriental II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NORECO II) experienced the unplanned power interruption which lasted about three hours.
The Mabinay-Bayawan 69kV transmission line was also de-energized during that day per request of NORECO II to facilitate repair activities at their Banaba substation.
NGCP continues to strengthen the transmission network with its regular maintenance ac-tivities done in close coordination with NORECO II. Both utilities are working together to im-prove services to power consumers, said Cruz.(www.ugnayan.com)
